Modern Slavery Policy

Modern slavery, a term that encompasses slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labor, bonded and child labor, and human trafficking, represents a grave violation of fundamental human rights and is considered a serious crime. Human trafficking involves the arrangement or facilitation of another person’s travel with the intention of exploiting them.

Commitments

At Hangout Luton, we are committed to implementing measures to safeguard against modern slavery in our organization and our supply chains:

  • Zero Tolerance: We maintain a zero-tolerance stance towards modern slavery in both our internal operations and external supply chains.
  • Responsibility and Reporting: Every individual working for or on behalf of Hangout Luton is responsible for preventing, detecting, and reporting any activity that might suggest a breach of this policy.
  • Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement: We are dedicated to working with our stakeholders and suppliers to address the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain.
  • Risk-Based Contracting: Our contracting processes are continually reviewed with a risk-based approach. This includes assessing the need for specific prohibitions against modern slavery and trafficked labor in contracts with third parties and requiring compliance with our Code of Conduct.
  • Supplier Compliance: We may require employment agencies and other third parties supplying workers to confirm compliance with our Code of Conduct. This also extends to suppliers who engage workers through third parties, obtaining their agreement to adhere to the Code.
  • Audits and Due Diligence: As part of our ongoing risk assessment and due diligence processes, we will consider conducting audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with our Code of Conduct.
  • Policy Breaches: In cases where individuals or organizations working on our behalf breach this policy, we will take appropriate action, ranging from remediation to the termination of such relationships.

This policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our organization or in any of our supply chains.
